(Sliced turnips)

Peel and slice a kilo of turnips. Slice an onion. Cook the onion slowly in a pan with oil and butter then add the turnip slices (if you like, you can also add some new potatoes). Season with salt and leave to cook over a very low heat. After 10 minutes add a glass of dry white wine or a cup of stock. After 20 minutes remove from the heat and allow to rest.
